That Arsene Wenger’s policy and politics is absurdly flawed is evident in William Gallas’ case. Mr Wenger won’t renew the lad’s contract because he is apparently too old to fit in his plans. Gallas display week in week out for the Spurs proved how wrong Wenger’s policy is. He is now the cornerstone of Tottenham’s defence, and the bitterness of the fans against his signing because he had played for their rivals has given way to love. Who had thought Spurs’ fans will ever forgive a former gunner.
The core fact is every team needs a couple of mature players to help the younger talents. Pep Guardiola wasn’t wrong when he said “Jack Wilshere looks like a player from the Barcelona’s team B”. In other words as long as Mr Wenger continues his policy of selling out matured players in favour of wholesome kids, I am afraid but Arsenal fans have to wait much longer for a silverware.
That was evident in the finals of the Carling Cup against Birmingham when the young gunners made a mess with a chance to win a title. Wenger’s over reliance on Van Persie to score all the goals for his team is another evident of his flawed policy. Don’t get me wrong Van Persie is a talented player and one of the experienced players in Wenger’s team. However, it was evident that he got frustrated in the game against Barcelona because he hardly had the ball to show what he is capable of. As a result he got rightly sent off by the ref for indiscipline.
Wenger’s inability to manage players with bigger ego like Emmanuel Adebayor and instead cash on them to deliver profit to the owners and shareholders means the fans are in for a longer wait for erm …. silverware?
He is a good manager as far as making profit for the club is concerned; however when it comes to winning trophies Mr Wenger has long lost the plot.
